I’ve always been rocking between art and science, without dizziness or nauseas. Among many other things, of course. But with so much rocking, you can already see that balance isn’t really one of my strong points.

I prefer curbs to straight lines, but it depends on the day. If I could choose, I’d cut off adolescence from the life I’ve lived so far. Do I have favourite books, films, art works, museums, countries? Yes, but I won’t tell you, otherwise tomorrow I’d have to be re-writing this whole biographical note again and I don’t really feel like doing it. One day I’d like to be a ranger at an ecologic reserve, an artist and have two dogs. What remains is very little: Aveiro, 1957. Graduated in Biology by the University of Coimbra; a BA in Theatre/Stage Management

by ESMAE - Porto Polytechnic Institute, and a post-graduation in Science Communication and Education by the University of Aveiro. An Erasmus in Theatre, at the University College of Ripon & York, York; a Course on Management of Knowledge and Innovation, by APICER/Academy PME-IPAMEI; etc. I worked as a permanent teacher of science and maths for 22 years; in theatre and opera as well; and I founded Setepés of which I’m a partner.

Working in the area of culture started in the beginning of the 90s, at an art gallery in Porto City,, while anticipating a degree in Management of Cultural Heritage, finalized in 1997, and the creation of a company in 1998. Setepés

appeared as the result of happy encounters and similar ideals in wishing to change local and national cultural scenarios, while firmly believing in the potential offered by art, culture, heritage, creativity and managing all of it.
My professional path merges with that of Setepés…
Graduated in Cultural Heritage Management (1997); with specialization in culture management and management of cultural companies (2003); and a Master degree in Service Management with the final thesis on “Services in incubators of creative businesses” (2010).
Destinations: South America whenever I can and the rest of the world after that…

I see the positive side of life, always believing in our capabilities to go beyond our limits and to reach the impossible of life. I receive the following day with a smile and the courage of wanting to do it better. Balance is a constant challenge. In legal terms I’m the manager and partner responsible for administration.

If my life were a bus, I would by number 7 (for many many reasons...). Number ‘Seven’ would be a bus of the future with stops in the Book shops and Theatres of Athens, Alexandria, Adelaide, Aracajú, Agadir,...  – just to mention those started by “A”,...  And its destination? Any destination with an interesting ratio of book shops/population density, and at least 3000 hours of sunlight per year. While such bus doesn’t stop at my door, I have been spending an average of 250 days per year and…. still got it, ‘a lust for life’!
Personal motto: Do your best. Leave the rest.

Borrowed motto: “We are what we do and above all what we do to change what we are”. (Eduardo Galeano)
Is the training coordinator for Setepés, where she is responsible for staff management and vocational training for culture since 2003. Master of Arts in Cultural Policies and Management, by the City University of London - specialization in human resources with her final thesis in “Point to Point Navigation – managing changes in Portuguese cultural organizations”.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success.
If you love what you are doing you will be successfull.
- Herman Cain.

I wouldn't say better.

After completing my degree in Communication in 2009 and after attending some trainnes in performative arts, I begun my (short) professional path communicating science, but I always knew that I should experiment the world of culture.
At Setepés I am Head of Communications and I have

been given the opportunity to promote culture. Besides contribuiting to promote Setepés' image I also deal with the company's projects communication.
After completing my degree, I felt the need to know more about business communication so I've looked for a specialization at UPORTO Business School in 2010. Now I am attending the MA Management for the Creative Industries in Universidade Católica, Porto as I believe that nowadays it's increasingly important for us to be able to adapt to new work contexts. I proudly belong to the 88 generation.

I am curious, persistent, a dreamer and I am always looking forward to learn and know more. I believe that it is possible to make a difference. I face life with a smile upon my face and a clown nose.
